Writing A TV or Movie Script Is A Lot Like Rebuilding A Car

 I posted this picture of the ugly duckling yesterday because it showed up in a memory on Facebook. I remember it like it was yesterday, after a few months of searching, I found one in my budget. Most of the 73 Challengers were way overpriced in the area (in my head) and the ones out of State, just weren't what I was looking for. so I made a deal with a guy, the old fashioned way, on a  handshake. And within 2 weeks she was parked in my driveway.



That's what eight grand bought you 12 years ago. Within the first week, I don't remember how many times she died on me for various reasons. Universal joints went, heater core, hoses blew, electrical issues.

I had enough, and like any bad script, I had the outline, but this puppy need a page one rewrite, she deserved it. While mechanically I'm a pretty good backyard wrencher, it was above my pay-grade. Found a guy on the west coast of Florida who  specialized in Mopars. Another handshake and off me and the wife went to the West Coast. 90 miles later we were stuck on the side of the road, blew the radiator.

Towed it the rest of the way. For the next 6 months, I waited, a bit impatiently to say the least. We see things on TV that makes us think rebuilding an automobile should only take a week. It doesn't.

Here what it takes to rewrite a car. First get rid of the old 318, and find a 440



Then you have to tear the story apart, completely to see whats underneath. Let me tell you, lots of crap in there.







I could go on and on about what was found, and what was replaced, but when all the rust and crap was removed,and all 4 1/4 and roof skins replaced, she started to take shape.



Time was getting close for her to be finished. The Guy was not happy with my choice of color, since he was a MOPAR guy, he just couldn't see Corvette Yellow on one, he said said it was Blasphemy. My story,it's gonna be written my way, just like a script.



A friend had one, always loved the color.  In the end, when it was finished, the guy apologized . . . . So in the end, write what you want, how you want, and turn that ugly duckling of a script of yours into the Queen of the ball!



And yes, it cost me a pretty penny to have all this done, but it was done right, sometimes that's the only way to go!

Rideshare Passenger Uses Hand Sanitizer As Weapon ... Surprise Attack On Driver!!!

 

11:10 AM PT -- The driver, Nicholas, tells us he picked Danny up at Denver Intl Airport -- passengers are supposed to wait at an island that's accessible from both sides -- and Nicholas says he chose the safer location. Nicholas says he didn't call the cops for the incident.

A rideshare passenger caused loads of trouble for a driver without even leaving the curb ... launching a sneak attack with a bottle of hand sanitizer after a tense showdown.

The shocking interaction was caught on video, and you see the irate passenger squirting sanitizer all over the car before chucking the bottle at the driver's head.

This ride that literally went nowhere started out on the bad ... the driver asks the passenger, Danny, to put his mask on ... and he responds by shading the driver ... telling him he picked him up on the wrong side of the street.

The driver doesn't take the dig too kindly and tells Danny to get out of the car because the ride is over ... and Danny starts arguing before launching his surprise, sanitizer attack.

We're still trying to locate the driver. This could be right out of my book series, The Drive To Kill

Uber driver accused of attacking woman with baseball bat

BAYONNE, New Jersey (WABC) -- Police are trying to track down an Uber driver who is accused of attacking a woman with a baseball bat.

The 30-year-old victim says she got into a dispute with the driver outside Walmart in Bayonne.

She says he pulled out the bat, swung at her, and then drove off.

Police say if they catch the man, they will charge him with aggravated assault.

Queen Teen Sues Lyft Over Driver Masturbation

The brave Queens teen who recorded a video of her Lyft driver masturbating is suing the ride-share company — claiming the company failed to properly vet its drivers.

The 14-year-old girl — who says driver Narinderjit Singh ogled her in the rear-view mirror as he touched himself — claims the firm failed to conduct proper background checks on its workers, according to the suit filed this week in Queens Supreme Court. Read more here

SAN ANTONIO — A man has been arrested in the murder of Tracie Ann Sheppard, 28, who was killed while working in a construction zone on Loop 1604 Thursday morning.
Christopher Gauna, 37, has admitted he was driving the suspected vehicle at the time and leaving the scene, according to an affidavit.

Gauna told police he was driving his gray 2015 Ford Explorer while checking his Lyft app, though the affidavit does not specify whether he is a driver for the company. While checking the app, the affidavit says Gauna drifted into the construction zone where Sheppard was working, hitting a trailer, which was attached to the truck she was driving.

Police say the crash crushed Sheppard in between the trailer and her work truck, killing her. After the accident, Gauna allegedly drove his vehicle to an apartment complex in the 11107 block of Loop 1604 and parked it in an apartment complex.

Court records say a witness later called police, suspecting the vehicle parked in the complex was the one involved in the accident.

When police arrived, they found the Explorer, saying it had clear front end damage, blood and more on the side of it and a flat tire. Gauna later admitted to parking the car there and asking for a friend to pick him up. Paint on the vehicle also allegedly matched the work vehicle Sheppard was crushed between.

Gauna, who told police he is an insurance claims adjuster, also admitted to knowing leaving the scene of the crime was in fact a crime. He's facing a charge of providing reasonable assistance or aid after fleeing the scene of a crash, resulting in the death of a person.

So after watching the show, it was fantastic to see that some people stood up and kept Paulina safe, but the reality is that would never happen the way you portrayed it. Unfortunately Samantha Josephson lost her life because she actually wasn’t paying attention and got into a car without verifying anything. Predators aren’t going to risk getting caught by engaging with their potential victims while others are around. They prey on the weak, they prey on those not paying attention. As I portrayed in my book here is a scenario that you might try, and there is no stopping this.

Bob, a local ride share driver in the Miami market was working his normal thirteen hour overnight shift, waiting for a ride. It was 2 AM and he was parked at his usual spot in Wynwood, normally a busy spot on Friday nights. As he waited for the familiar ding on his phone alerting him to a passenger’s request, he smoked a cigarette outside of his car thinking. He was worried about all the bills he had to pay and couldn’t help but wonder how he was going to do based on the fort-seven dollars he made today. Bob  looked up from his phone and watched as a man in a dark hoodie approached him, 

“Evening sir, I was wondering if I could ask you a favor?” the hooded man asked.

“Sure” Bob said, fully expecting the man to ask him for some change like so many other panhandlers in the area had done in the past. 

“Well, I have to get to Hollywood in Broward, I have an emergency and I lost my phone. I see that you’re a ride-share driver, if I give you fifty bucks cash could you get me there as quick as possible?”

Thinking for a moment, Bob looked at the hooded man and realized he needed the cash, just like so many other drivers do these days. 

“Sure, but I need the cash up front” Bob said.

The Hooded man reached into his pocket and pulled out a wad of cash and handed Bob two twenties and a ten dollar bill which Bob willingly took.

“Get in” Bob said

The hooded man got into the backseat of Bobs Jeep Grand Cherokee and seated himself behind Bob, Bob put the car in drive and drove towards I95, hitting a red light several blocks away. As usual at this time of night the lights remained in the red position for longer than normal. Bob put the car in park and waited for the light to change back to green. The hooded man in the backseat was growing impatient waiting at the light and told Bob 

“Come on man, no one’s around, go through the light and let’s get on our way.”

Bob said “Sorry buddy, but my license is important to me and I don’t need a red light infraction, can’t afford the fine.”

The man in the backseat exploded in anger and pulled a pocket knife from his pocket, unfolded the blade and reached around the headrest grabbed Bobs neck in a choke hold with his left arm  then proceeded to plunge the knife into Bob’s  chest and upper body. Bob was unable to fight back due to the severity and quickness of the attack.  As the attack ended, blood flowed from the wounds the hooded man inflicted, and Bobs gurgled moans and shallow breathing came to an end as the view of downtown Miami went black as his life ended.  

From the back seat the hooded man unbuckled Bob’s seatbelt and pulled him into the backseat. Since the Jeep was in park, this made the transition from passenger to driver possible and since Bob never turned off his rideshare app this gave the hooded man access to Bob’s driver account. The hooded man got out from the rear of the jeep and got into the driver’s seat making sure to keep his hood up and his face covered keeping his identity hidden from any cameras that might be watching. He drove to an empty lot behind a warehouse and got out and opened the trunk. He pulled Bob’s lifeless body from the rear of the Jeep and placed him in the storage area in the back and closed the door. He looked around making sure that he had not been seen, got back into the jeep and put it in drive and headed towards Hollywood.

It was 2:30 AM and Julie was getting off of work at her job at the local watering hole she worked at in West Hollywood. She had requested a ride from her ride-share app and was waiting outside her job for her ride to arrive. The streets were empty and dark, a familiar site for her when she got off work, and she realized that she needed to make some changes. Her last couple of rides home had her questioning her safety when riding in a stranger’s car, she was uncomfortable. Her ride was a minute away, so she moved to the curb in anticipation of Bob’s arrival in his Jeep Grand Cherokee. She watched on her phone as the Jeep turned the corner heading in her direction ad she could see its headlights heading towards her. The Jeep pulled up to the curb and she checked the License plate to make sure it was the correct vehicle. The tag matched so she entered the vehicle on the passenger side and greeted the hooded man in the driver’s seat.

“Hey, my name is Julie, how are you sir?’ she asked 

Noticing the temperature of the car. It was extremely cold inside, seemed abnormally so. There was no response from the man in the front seat. She could not see his face as the car started to move towards her destination. As she adjusted her position in the rear seat she palace her left hand on the seat and felt something wet on her fingers. She could not see due to the darkness of the interior, so she pulled her phone from her pocket and hit the flashlight option and pointed the light towards her hand. She looked in horror as she saw her left covered in what appeared to be blood on it. She pointed the light at the seat next to her and screamed in horror as she saw that it was covered in blood. Fear gripped her entire body, her mind told her this can’t be happening, and she needed to escape. Before she could grab the door handle, she heard the doors lock, she reached for it but there was no response. She was trapped……….

Madison Lyft driver arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting passenger

MADISON (WKOW) — A Lyft driver is in jail and has been removed for the ride service platform after allegedly sexually assaulting a woman early Friday morning on Madison’s east side.

Officers arrested Jeremy D. Foley, 24, for second-degree sexual assault of a person under the influence, according to a Madison Police Department incident report.

Police say the woman used Lyft to get a ride home from an East Washington Avenue address.
Foley allegedly stopped short of his passenger’s home, locked the doors and told her to perform a sex act on him, police said.

The woman felt like she had no choice. Afterward, the driver dropped the woman off at her home.
Madison police were dispatched at 1:15 a.m. and arrested Foley later.

Lyft provided a statement when asked for reaction to the arrest.

“Safety is fundamental to Lyft. The behavior described is terrifying, and the driver’s access to Lyft has been permanently removed. We have reached out to the rider to extend our support. We stand ready to assist authorities and will continue to help in every way we can,” the company wrote in the statement.

A 71-year-old Arizona man was shot to death while driving for Lyft, just minutes after he spoke to his wife on the phone to wish her a happy 52nd wedding anniversary.

Harold Treadwell was fatally shot in the early hours of Sunday while in his car, Phoenix police and his wife, Frances Treadwell, told NBC News.

Authorities said in a statement that Treadwell was the only person in the car at the time and they believe the bullet was fired from outside the vehicle.

Frances Treadwell said the shooting occurred on their wedding anniversary. "I feel like I am living a horrible nightmare," she said. "I wish I could wake up and he would still be sitting here."

Frances and Harold Treadwell had been married for 52 years and been together since she graduated high school. "He was my best friend," she said. Together, the couple had two children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Treadwell was a retired financial planner who drove Lyft part-time to bring in extra income. Frances Treadwell said he left the house Saturday between 5-6 p.m. to drive Lyft, stopped back at home around 8 p.m. for dinner, and went out again to drive more.

Phone records show the couple spoke at 12:28 a.m. Sunday, and police say Treadwell was murdered just after 12:30 a.m. Frances Treadwell said her husband told her on the phone he was headed home but she said it wasn't unusual for him to work through the night.

At 4:30 a.m. Sunday, police knocked on the door of the Treadwells' Phoenix home, telling Frances Treadwell her husband was involved in a homicide.

She told NBC News she's grief-stricken, devastated and worried about her financial future. They didn't have life insurance for him and she says she will lose his benefits.

A friend created a GoFundMe for the family and Frances Treadwell says the money will go toward funeral expenses. "I had no money for cremation," she said, thanking the people who have already donated just shy of $5,000. "I didn't know what GoFundMe was," she added.

Police are investigating the killing and say they currently don’t have any suspects.

In a statement, Lyft said it is assisting law enforcement with the investigation.

“We are deeply saddened and shocked by this loss," the ride-share company said. "Our sympathies go out to the loved ones of Harold Treadwell and all those impacted by this tragedy.”

Frances Treadwell pleaded for anyone with information to come forward and contact the Phoenix police. "He had no enemies," she said of her husband. "I need help finding who did this. I want justice."

Fake Uber driver who 'kidnapped and killed a South Carolina student' was arrested for selling items stolen from another kidnapping five months earlier

The man who is accused of kidnapping and killing a college student who mistakenly entered his car thinking it was her Uber, has been linked to another kidnapping five months prior, it's been revealed. 

Nathaniel David Rowland, 24, has been charged with the murder and kidnapping of University of South Carolina student Samantha Josephson, 21.

He allegedly he locked her in his car and killed on March 29 after she mistakenly entered his vehicle at 2am, thinking it was her ride-share car home.  

Resurfaced warrants and police documents show he was arrested on October 19, 2018 in Richland County, South Carolina for allegedly trying to sell items stolen during another woman's kidnapping, according to WLTX.

A woman told Columbia police that two men carjacked her while she was at a traffic light in Columbia. They physically assaulted her and forced her to drive to an ATM to withdraw money. 

Then they made her drive to her home where they stole items and left the scene. 

Cops say that just hours later some of those stolen items - including a Playstation 4 - showed up at a pawn shop. 

© Provided by Associated Newspapers Limited Josephson was murdered on March 29 when she mistakenly got into the wrong car, thinking it was her Uber and was attacked Authorities tracked the stolen items sold at the shop back to Rowland and arrested him. 

However, there was no indication that Rowland was involved in the carjacking itself. 

He was charged with obtaining goods under false pretenses valued at $2,000 or less, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.

Rowland currently awaits a bond hearing set for April 22 for the murder and kidnapping charges in the murder of Josephson.

Authorities say she died suffering multiple stab wounds with a sharp object to the head, neck, face, upper body, leg and foot. 

Her body was found dumped in Clarendon County, about 65 miles from where she was last seen. 

Rowland was arrested at 3am on March 30 after police saw him driving a few blocks from Five Points, the bar where Josephson accidentally entered his car.

His parents insist that he is innocent and was at a party at the time of the attack. 

They say he passed out at the party, woke up and found his car keys in his vehicle - its interior covered in blood. 

However, authorities say they have surveillance video of Josephson entering Rowland's dark colored car. 

The night after Josephson's murder cops noticed Rowland's black Chevrolet Impala two blocks from the bar where she was kidnapped and arrested him after a short chase.
